Luis Anibal Calderon grows over 20 different varieties of coffee on his 20 hectare farm, Finca Villa Betulia, including coveted varieties such as Gesha, Red Wush Wush, Red Java, Yellow Bourbon, Papayo, Sidra, Tabi, Red Tip, Chilli Bourbon, Caturron, Striped Bourbon... and this delicious Pink Bourbon!

Luis hand-picks only the ripest cherries, which then undergo a dry anaerobic fermentation in GrainPro bags for 48 hours. The coffee is then pulped and fermented for a further 18 hours inside ceramic tanks. It is then washed and sun-dried on raised beds until it reaches a moisture content of 10.5%.

The reward is a stunning coffee that is clean and crisp in the cup, with notes of blood-orange, passion fruit and strawberry coulis.

It is Luis's dream that his coffees gain international recognition for their quality, and that he is one day able to travel to the countries where it is sold, and to see how it is prepared. On this evidence it won't be long at all before he is able to realise his dream.
