A Masterclass in Fermentation
Mike has returned from his trip to Kenya, with a head full of knowledge from the Fermentation Training Camp with Lucia Solis. 
 
Lucia is a microbiologist, and somewhat of a legend in the coffee industry. She consults with coffee producers and growers worldwide, offering her unique perspective to help producers achieve more consistency and control through the use of fermentation. Here's the latest from Mike on his trip to Kenya:
 
"There are many professionals in the coffee industry but very few as humble as Lucia Solis. The knowledge and experience that Lucia shared was inspiring. The combination of microbiology and efficient practices at the farm level that she promotes and teaches benefits the farmer first, which in the industry can be rare. 
 
I spent a week discovering the hospitality of Rosabella at Chepsangor Hills in Kenya, whilst learning in the company of fellow experts from all over the world. From Rwanda to Switzerland, Australia to the Philippines, Kenya to Vietnam, Uganda to Puerto Rico...the list goes on. I had the opportunity not only to learn from Lucia Solis, but also to gain a well rounded understanding of the global coffee industry. 
 
There are very few courses that combine a global love of coffee with such in-depth industry knowledge. The Fermentation Training Course with Lucia and her partner Nick was a truly unique experience.
I hope to apply the knowledge that I have learnt to help educate others of the challenges faced by farmers and producers in this current climate. I look forward to using this information to help Red Bank make even better choices and have a positive impact in the coffee industry. Life’s too short to drink bad coffee."
