We source the majority of our coffee through Raw Material, a not-for-profit social enterprise that exists to maximise the income, and improve the working conditions of the producers that they represent. We work with Raw Material predominantly in Colombia, Mexico and Rwanda, and it is through them that we are able to offer a number of coffees that have become real stalwarts of our seasonal offering, including those from El Fénix in Colombia, Shyira in Rwanda, and Finca Chelín and Yoloxochitlán in Mexico.
Raw Material is the embodiment of our focus on good coffee and good people, with each member of the team being a true “coffee person”, focussed on quality, and doing the best they can for the producers that they work with. Raw Material has facilitated our visits to Colombia, Mexico and Rwanda, including participation in their inaugral Plant to Port course at El Fénix, which follows the coffee supply chain all the way from agronomy and processing, through to milling and export.
These trips have been key to us establishing strong and meaningful relationships with the producers we represent, and we are incredibly proud to support their work.
