Buku Sayisa is a washing station located high up in the Guji Highlands, in the Hambela Wamena region of Ethiopia. The washing station receives cherry grown all the way up to 2,350m, making it some of the highest grown coffee in Ethiopia. At this altitude the cherry matures slowly, allowing for better sugar development, and greater cup complexity. The result is a vibrant and expressive coffee, that is incredibly sweet, floral and complex, with notes of peach, Earl Grey tea and rose.

Origin Story
We bought this coffee from Nordic Approach, a coffee importer based in Norway that has a reputation for importing some of the best Ethiopian and Kenyan coffees around. Tom travelled to their Spring Cupping in Oslo in April this year in the hope of securing some of the season’s best lots, and we couldn’t be happier with our selections. We purchased a number of lots from both origins, this being our first Ethiopian release of the season. We already can’t wait to share with you the rest of the coffees that have in store!
